Welcome to Live Curious! My name is Mary Kingston Roche and I am the proud founder.
I am a mother, educator, advocate, entrepreneur, and lifelong learner. A native of Massachusetts, I moved across the country to begin my career as a teacher in Oakland, CA where I discovered my love for working with youth. I later served on my local school board and volunteered with middle and high school youth to ensure they had access and opportunity for a great education. After receiving my Master of Public Policy from Duke University, I have served for the last 15+ years as an advocate for children, securing policies and funding from the federal to local levels that improve children and families’ well-being and quality of education.
Reflecting on my work in education and policy, plus my experience as a mom, I identified curiosity as a critical and powerful quality for children and adults to recognize and nurture. So, in 2022 I founded Live Curious, an initiative to help people and organizations reawaken and strengthen their curiosity for greater well-being and impact. I spoke at TEDx Ocala in November 2022, have delivered workshops to organizations, launched an online course for individuals, and have spoken to groups and on podcasts. I am passionate about speaking, writing, and coaching people to cultivate their innate curiosity. I have two children who model insatiable curiosity every day and live in Maryland where I love to run, read, get to know different people, and go on adventures with my family.
